Rushing Ahead

Often in our struggle to please the Lord, we rush ahead. We fail to wait upon Him and seek His face to determine His perfect will for our life. Then reality hits us square in the face, our efforts have not created the desired outcome. We have created a mess and everything we touch falls apart. Then in an attempt to fix our problems, we turn to the left. When that doesn’t work, we zigzag to the right. Slowly, it dawns on us that we have missed the leading of the Lord. When we face the truth of our position, we begin crying out “Help me, Lord!”

It’s at those times, the Lord brings correction and yet we see His mercy and grace beyond measure. His love is still pouring over our spirit even as His rod steers us back onto His pathway. Each one of us will make mistakes and fail in our walk with the Lord. We are human. Yet the Lord knows our frailty and loves us in spite of our failures. Today, rejoice in the knowledge that even in your mess His love is still there. He will continue to pour that eternal grace and mercy into your spirit. No mistake is too big for Him. Praise His name for His perfect love, grace, and mercy.
