The Lord knew every single one of us long before our birth or even the birth of our great-great-grandparents. Even if the timing of your birth was unexpected or even undesired, the Lord wanted you. There are many individuals who have never known the joy of belonging or wanted by someone. They feel alone, abandoned, and forsaken by the very people who should love and protect them. Yet even in despair, His Word gives us hope.
Esther had known captivity for years. Her family was gone except for her uncle. Then the unthinkable happened, the king’s men took her and she would live out the rest of her life in the palace of the king. But in the midst of her turmoil, she found favor with an eunuch. We soon see the Lord’s plan for her life. The Lord ordained Esther ‘for such a time as this.’ Through her willingness and faithfulness, she was able to prevent the execution of her people.
While none of us may be used for anything as grand as Esther, He does have a plan for our life. He has a call on our life and we were born here for such a time as this. Your testimony could turn someone else’s life around. Your words of encouragement could touch a hurting heart. Your prayers could move mountains in the life of someone else. Some as they seek after the Lord will discover a call to minister to the lost overseas. Others may be called into a music ministry, or teaching, or working with children. There are prayer warriors, intercessors who are just as important as the hands on workers.
As important as the call is, there is one thing that is even more important. Our obedience is vital. Yes, the Lord can use anyone, but the truth is simple. He wants to use you; there are hearts that you can touch like no one else. Are you willing to follow His leading? Are you willing to be obedient to all the Lord is calling you to do? Rise up to the occasion. Be all that He intended from the moment of your birth. You are unique. You are special and you were born for such a time as this.
